Publish announcements
Tell users about new features and changes inside the product, where they'll actually see them.
Announcements are in-app messages: a modal, a banner or a side drawer. Use them for new features, changes, maintenance notices or offers. Unread announcements also collect behind a small beacon with an unread count, so users can catch up later.
Before you start: 3Guide is installed in your app.
Create the announcement
Open Content → Announcements and either Start from a template or create a blank one. It opens in the Announcement Studio.
Write and design it
Edit the content on the Canvas, then choose Display as: a modal in the centre of the screen, a banner across the top (default height 150px, maximum 300px), or a drawer from the side.
Enter a Preview URL to see it on top of your real app while you edit.
Decide who sees it, and when
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| How to show | Auto-show: appears on its own, after an optional Auto-show delay. Beacon click: waits in the beacon until the user opens it. |
| How often | Once, Per session, Per day or Every visit |
| Route (optional) | Only show it on matching pages, for example /billing/* |
| Schedule window | Only show it between two dates, for launches and time-limited offers |
| Attach guide (optional) | Add a button that starts one of your guides, so "we've launched X" leads straight into "here's how to use X" |
Make it live
Switch it to Active. Open your app to check it appears where and when you expect.
See how it's doing
The Announcements page shows total impressions, average conversion, active triggers and user sentiment for your announcements. Open any announcement again to edit it, or switch it off.
Defaults for all announcements
Your snippet can set the site-wide default surface, for example data-announcement-surface="banner". Anything you choose in the Studio for a specific announcement takes priority. All options are in the SDK reference.
